Eid Al-Fitr and Spring Break Announcement
Dear Rockford Iqra School Families,
As we approach the blessed celebration of Eid Al-Fitr, we are pleased to announce our upcoming school holidays. Rockford Iqra School will be closed for Eid and Spring Break from March 24th through April 1st, 2025. Classes will resume on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025.
Celebrating the End of Ramadan
Eid Al-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a time of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. After a month of spiritual growth and devotion, Eid is a joyous occasion to celebrate with family and friends, exchange gifts, wear new clothes, and enjoy special meals together.
Eid Traditions and Celebrations
Eid Al-Fitr begins with a special morning prayer, followed by celebrations that can last up to three days. Some beautiful traditions include:
- Giving to charity (Zakat al-Fitr) before the Eid prayer
- Wearing new or best clothes
- Exchanging gifts and sweets
- Visiting family and friends
- Enjoying festive meals together
- Decorating homes with lights and ornaments
Message from Our Principal
“As we conclude the blessed month of Ramadan and welcome Eid Al-Fitr, I extend my warmest wishes to all our students and their families. This special time reminds us of the importance of gratitude, compassion, and community—values we strive to instill in our students every day at Rockford Iqra School.
May this Eid bring you joy, peace, and blessings, and may your time with family and loved ones be meaningful and memorable. We look forward to hearing about your Eid celebrations when we return to school on April 2nd.
Eid Mubarak to you and your families!”
Combining Eid and Spring Break
This year, our Eid celebration coincides with our Spring Break, giving our students and families ample time to observe this important holiday and enjoy a well-deserved break from academic routines. We encourage our students to:
- Spend quality time with family and friends
- Reflect on the lessons learned during Ramadan
- Rest and recharge for the final months of the school year
- Enjoy the beginning of spring and outdoor activities (weather permitting)
School Resumes April 2nd
Please note that normal school operations will resume on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025. We ask that all students return to school ready to continue their educational journey. Any assignments given before the break will be due upon return unless otherwise specified by individual teachers.
Eid Celebration at School
Before our break begins, we will host an Eid celebration at school on Friday, March 21st. Students can wear their cultural or festive attire for this special day. The celebration will include:
- Special assembly with Eid-themed activities
- Traditional treats and refreshments
- Exchange of cards and well-wishes
- Cultural presentations about Eid traditions around the world
