Happy Ramadan to Our Rockford Iqra School Family

Ramadan Mubarak!

As the blessed month of Ramadan begins, the Rockford Iqra School administration, faculty, and staff would like to extend our warmest wishes to all our students and their families. May this holy month bring peace, happiness, and spiritual growth to everyone in our school community.

A Time for Reflection and Growth

Ramadan is a special time of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and heightened devotion. It reminds us of the values that we strive to instill in our students every day at Rockford Iqra School – compassion, empathy, generosity, and gratitude. These principles are not only central to our faith but also essential to becoming thoughtful, responsible members of society.

School Schedule During Ramadan

To accommodate our fasting students and staff, we will be making some adjustments to our regular schedule:

  • School hours will be from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM during the entire month of Ramadan
  • Physical education classes will be modified with less strenuous activities
  • A quiet room will be available during lunch periods for students who wish to rest or pray
  • After-school activities will end by 3:30 PM to allow families time for iftar preparations

Supporting Our Students

We encourage parents to help their children maintain a balanced approach to fasting, especially our younger students who may be fasting for the first time. Adequate sleep, proper suhoor before dawn, and staying hydrated during non-fasting hours are important for maintaining energy and focus during school hours.

For students who are not fasting due to age, health conditions, or other valid reasons, we will provide a designated eating area during lunch periods to respect those who are observing the fast.

Community Iftars

We are pleased to announce that Rockford Iqra School will be hosting community iftars every Friday during Ramadan. These gatherings will begin shortly before sunset and will feature:

  • Recitation of the Quran
  • Group prayers
  • A delicious iftar meal
  • Community bonding activities

We invite all our families to join us for these special events. Please register through the school office if you plan to attend, as this will help us prepare adequate food and seating arrangements.

Zakat and Charity Initiatives

In the spirit of giving that characterizes Ramadan, our school will be organizing several charity initiatives:

  1. Food drive for local food banks
  2. Fundraising for our school’s financial assistance program

We encourage our students and families to participate in these efforts, reinforcing the importance of helping those in need.

Celebrating Eid Al-Fitr

As Ramadan concludes, we will celebrate Eid Al-Fitr as a school community. Please note that school will be closed for Eid Al-Fitr. The exact date will be announced closer to the time, depending on the sighting of the moon.

We will host an Eid celebration for students during the last week of Ramadan, featuring special activities, treats, and gifts for our students.

Our Wishes for You

During this blessed month, we pray that Allah (SWT) accepts your fasting, prayers, and good deeds. May this Ramadan bring renewed faith, increased patience, and abundant blessings to you and your loved ones.

We are grateful for your continued support of Rockford Iqra School and for entrusting us with your children’s education. It is our privilege to nurture their academic, moral, and spiritual development.

Ramadan Kareem from our family to yours!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mona Nizamuddin Principal, Rockford Iqra School
